Robot training data from India
We record real work in Gujarat's factories, so robots can learn it.
Haath Labs gives robotics teams a way into textile mills, diamond workshops, ceramic plants and machine shops across Gujarat, and records the human demonstration data your models learn from. We deal with the factory owners, get consent from every worker and run the cameras. You get first-person video and teleoperation data, raw or labelled.
What we do
- Access
- We find factories doing the work you need and agree terms with the owners. You don't need to fly in or negotiate.
- Recording
- Our crew films during normal shifts with the setup you choose: egocentric (first-person) video from head or chest cameras, wrist cameras, fixed multi-view rigs, teleoperation, or hardware you send us.
- Labelling
- If you want labels, we add them: task and step boundaries, hand keypoints, objects and a short description of each action, or we follow your own guidelines. A person checks every clip before it ships.
- Consent
- Every worker signs a consent form and every factory signs an agreement. We blur faces when you need us to.
Where we work
These are the towns we can take you into today, most of them a few hours' drive apart. If the work you need isn't listed, ask. Someone in Gujarat probably does it.
| No. | Town | Industry | Hand work you can record |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Surat | Textiles, diamond cutting | Sewing, folding and packing garments. Cutting and polishing diamonds by hand. |
| 2 | Ahmedabad & Sanand | Textiles, pharma, automotive | Garment work, packaging lines, car sub-assembly and kitting. |
| 3 | Vadodara | Engineering, chemicals | Machine work, assembly and lab handling. |
| 4 | Ankleshwar & Vapi | Chemicals, pharma | Filling, packing, sampling and lab work. |
| 5 | Rajkot | Engineering, castings, auto parts | Machine tending, assembly and inspection. |
| 6 | Morbi | Ceramics, wall clocks | Sorting and packing tiles. Assembling clocks. |
| 7 | Jamnagar | Brass parts | Finishing, sorting and assembling small parts. |
We also record in food processing plants, which are spread across Gujarat rather than gathered in one town.
How a project runs
- 1
You tell us what you need
The tasks, the camera setup, roughly how many hours, and the labels you want.
- 2
We find the sites
We shortlist factories, agree terms, collect consent and send you a plan.
- 3
We run a pilot
A few hours of footage first, so you can check the quality before committing to more.
- 4
We scale up
Once the pilot works, we record at volume and deliver in batches, in your format.
Common questions
What kind of robot training data do you collect?
Mostly human demonstration data: egocentric (first-person) video of skilled workers doing real tasks, plus wrist-camera footage, multi-view recordings and teleoperation data when a project needs it. Everything is recorded in working factories during normal shifts, not staged in a lab.
Which industries and tasks can you record?
Textiles and garments, diamond cutting and polishing, ceramics, machining, castings, brass parts, chemicals, pharma, automotive and food processing, in towns including Surat, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Morbi and Jamnagar. If a task is done somewhere in Gujarat, we can usually find it.
Can we use our own cameras or capture rigs?
Yes. Send us your hardware and recording spec and our crew will run it on site. If you don't have a spec yet, we can help you write one.
What labels can you add?
Task and step boundaries, hand keypoints, objects, and short plain-language descriptions of each action. We can also follow your own labelling guidelines, or deliver the footage raw so your team labels it.
How do you handle consent and privacy?
Every worker who appears in the data signs an informed consent form, and every factory signs an agreement covering what is recorded and how it can be used. We can blur faces and anything confidential on the shop floor before delivery.
Do you work with robotics companies outside India?
Yes. Haath Labs is built for robotics and physical AI teams anywhere in the world. You work with us remotely and we handle everything on the ground in Gujarat.
How do we start?
Send a request with the tasks you need. We'll reply with questions and a plan for a small pilot, so you can check the data before committing to a larger order.
હાથ (haath) means hand, in Gujarati and in Hindi.
A note from Milan
Robots are learning to do physical work, and they learn it by watching people. The trouble is that the work worth learning happens inside factories that robotics teams can't easily get into.
Gujarat is full of that work, and I know the people who run these factories. Haath Labs is how I put the two together. You tell me what your robots need to learn, I find the place where people do it every day, and we record it properly, with everyone's consent.
If you're building robots and need data from the real world, write to me. I'll tell you honestly what we can record and how quickly.
